Bromcom to roll out cloud-based MIS Across 111 Schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in Wales has selected Bromcom Computers to implement its cloud-based Management Information System (MIS) in all 111 schools across the region.

The transition, set to be completed by the start of the 2025 academic year, replaces long-standing legacy systems and aims to modernize data management, streamline administrative processes, and improve communication between schools, staff, students, and parents.

Digital transformation for Rhondda schools

The introduction of Bromcom’s cloud-based MIS follows its recent success in Northern Ireland and builds on its growing presence in Wales, where it has now secured contracts with three out of four councils moving away from their previous MIS provider. The migration process will begin by the end of this term, ensuring that all schools are operating on the new system in time for the next academic year.

Bromcom’s platform integrates administrative functions, analytics, and communication tools into a single system. Key features include a parent portal, clubs and trip management, and real-time access to student data. The system also supports bilingual access, allowing both English and Welsh-speaking users to interact with the platform effectively.

AI-driven features to improve efficiency

The MIS includes embedded AI capabilities to enhance data analytics and streamline administrative tasks. AI-powered tools assist with generating reports, letters, and other key documents with minimal user intervention. Conversational AI features help staff analyze student performance data more efficiently, supporting data-driven decision-making.

A representative from Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council stated:

"Rhondda Cynon Taf and our supported schools are pleased to be partnering with Bromcom, switching to their Management Information System (MIS) in this academic year. This change aims to improve how schools and the local authority handle student data, enhancing communication between staff, students, and parents.

The new system will streamline administrative tasks and support student success. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and are excited about the positive impact this will have on our pupils and schools."

Mark Thomas, Head Teacher at Ysgol Bro Taf, noted that the system will improve efficiency within schools:

"We are excited to introduce Bromcom as our new Management Information System. Its intuitive platform will streamline key processes, reduce administrative workload, and enhance communication across our school community.

“By improving efficiency and making the most of data-driven decision-making, we can focus on what truly matters—delivering the best possible education for our pupils. We look forward to the positive impact this system will have on our school."

Bromcom has been providing digital solutions in Wales since the 1990s, initially supplying eRegistration devices for schools. The company's integrated platform is developed in-house, reducing reliance on third-party plugins and ensuring compatibility across all features.

Ali Guryel, Managing Director of Bromcom Computers, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Rhondda Cynon Taf schools:

"We're delighted that a third Welsh Council has chosen Bromcom to transform their MIS experience. We've worked closely with RCT as they navigated a thoughtful and thorough selection process, giving us valuable insights into what Rhondda schools need most. We are looking forward to creating a partnership with them and their schools and maximizing the impact of the Bromcom solution."
