Genesis expands STEAM and Arts education support in Louisiana with workshops and funding for students
Genesis Motor America, through its corporate social responsibility initiative Genesis Gives, has hosted a STEAM workshop at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana and provided funding for arts education in Louisiana.
The initiative included hands-on learning activities for students and a $10,000 donation to Young Audiences of Louisiana.
The workshop, held in Lafayette, introduced over 30 elementary, middle, and high school students to product planning and vehicle design using upcycled materials. Genesis representatives, along with volunteers from Genesis of Lafayette, provided students with insights into the company's development process. Participants also viewed a Genesis vehicle and later created models of future mobility concepts.
In addition to the STEAM workshop, Genesis Inspiration Foundation provided a $10,000 donation to Young Audiences of Louisiana, an organization that delivers arts education to schools and communities. The nonprofit facilitates school performances, community arts programs, and teacher training, aiming to enhance learning through creative expression.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana, now in its 55th year, operates across nine locations, offering after-school and summer programs focused on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership development. The club’s programs serve young people, particularly those from under-resourced communities, in building skills for their future.
Young Audiences of Louisiana, a provider of arts-integrated education in the state, continues to expand its programming to reach more students. Through school performances, extended learning programs, and community workshops, the organization provides students with opportunities to explore arts and culture while developing cognitive and social skills.
Genesis Gives, the brand’s social responsibility initiative, focuses on increasing access to STEAM education and youth sports in underserved communities. Since its launch in 2022, Genesis Gives has contributed nearly $1.8 million to support various programs nationwide.
The Genesis Inspiration Foundation, a nonprofit arm of the company, funds arts programs across the U.S. with the goal of improving educational outcomes through creative learning. Since 2018, the foundation has donated $10 million to support museums, schools, and cultural institutions in providing arts education.
Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Genesis Motor America, emphasized the importance of such programs in education:
"At Genesis, we are committed to supporting the next generation of engineers, artists, and leaders. STEAM programs are an essential part of a child's education and development, and art can unlock creativity and boost students' performance in an academic setting. The benefits of these initiative are impactful, which is why we are proud to help bring more of these programs to areas that might not have immediate access to them."
