Pendulum Ink relaunches with subscription-based hip-hop education and mental health focus
Pendulum Ink, the first online hip-hop academy, has relaunched with a subscription-based model to make hip-hop education more accessible worldwide.
The new structure includes multiple tiers, providing flexibility for students at different stages of their hip-hop journey.
The platform integrates mental health education, addressing a topic often overlooked in the rap community.
Jeff Walker, co-owner and professor, explained the importance of this approach:
“Mental health is a crucial conversation in every community, and it’s time the hip-hop world embraced it too. Through our courses, we’re showing students how to use music as therapy—to tell their stories, process their emotions, and find healing through creative expression.”
Pendulum Ink offers various learning options, including self-guided video lessons, live classes, and celebrity-led lectures. The academy also provides access to an online student lounge for collaboration and connection. Enrollment has increased since the website’s relaunch, reflecting a demand for this type of educational approach.
Mickey Factz, Pendulum Ink’s founder and CEO, noted the academy’s mission to uplift the hip-hop community:
“When I started Pendulum Ink, it was about more than teaching—it was about creating a space for hip-hop to be respected as structured, intentional, and meaningful. Seeing Pendulum Ink evolve means everything to me because now, more people can access this knowledge and grow as artists and individuals. I love the hip-hop community, and this is my way of giving back while pushing it forward.”
