RM and Cambridge University Press and Assessment extend e-marking partnership to advance digital assessments

RM, a global provider of digital learning and assessment solutions, has signed a new five-year contract with Cambridge University Press & Assessment

The agreement continues their 15-year collaboration and supports Cambridge’s efforts to expand its digital assessment capabilities.

Over the past five years, Cambridge has processed more than 27 million exam scripts using RM’s systems. The partnership has aimed to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and security of marking processes. Under the new contract, the collaboration will include the rollout of digital mock exams utilizing RM’s Assessment Master technology.

Cambridge is working with schools in the UK and internationally to develop digital assessments that are informed by research and testing. These assessments are designed to improve accessibility, offer varied question formats, and better align with how students learn.

Mark Cook, CEO of RM, highlighted the partnership's continuity and future plans:

“Cambridge and RM have a long-standing partnership, so I am delighted to announce that this is set to continue and expand over the next five years. Our work since 2009 has demonstrated the significant benefits that on-screen marking brings to both awarding bodies and learners. 

“We are excited to be working together in order to help them in navigating this path towards fully on-screen exams within the next ten years.”

The project aligns with RM’s strategy to address the growing demand for digital transformation in education, including its work to create a Global Accreditation Platform.

Mark Maddocks, Chief Information Officer at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, explained the focus on improving learner experiences:
