DirectEmployers achieves Veteran Ready Certification with PsychArmor’s virtual training modules

DirectEmployers Association has been awarded Veteran Ready Certification through its collaboration with PsychArmor, a nonprofit organization specializing in military cultural training.

The certification is held by fewer than 200 organizations in the U.S. To achieve the certification, DirectEmployers staff completed five virtual training modules provided by PsychArmor. The training focused on understanding military culture, addressing challenges faced by service members transitioning to civilian life, and identifying effective ways to connect with military and veteran employees.

PsychArmor provides military cultural awareness training through courses, webinars, and customized education programs. Its work is designed to equip organizations with the tools needed to engage effectively with the military-connected community.

The training content focuses on evidence-based approaches to address the unique needs of servicemembers, veterans, and their families.

Michael Witt, Community & State Outreach Manager and co-chair of DirectEmployers’ VetConnect Employee Resource Group, commented, “We’re proud that our staff collectively recognizes the importance of creating a workplace where military and veteran employees feel they truly belong.”

Supporting veteran employment initiatives

As a provider of OFCCP compliance solutions, DirectEmployers has a history of supporting veteran employment efforts. Its services include compliance with the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), automated job listing, and targeted recruitment activities to help employers hire and retain veteran talent.

The Veteran Ready Certification initiative aligns with DirectEmployers’ broader efforts to promote veteran hiring across its membership, which includes over 1,000 employers. The program was led by the VetConnect ERG.

Ralph DiBenedetto, Senior Strategic Partnerships and Alliances Specialist and co-chair of VetConnect, stated, “We hope this certification not only gives our current and future military and veteran employees a sense of belonging but also inspires our 1,100+ employer Members to pursue this valuable designation.”
